History

How Dancalan came to be called by its name? nobody knows. Old folks could only that somewhere in this barrio’s colorful history. Duru-Dancalan trees may have grown abundantly along the seashores of this fair land from whence; Perhaps the early settlers derived the community’s name. Sometimes in its history, Dancalan was also called San Juan from its patron saint – San Juan Bautista. Although this barrio was small compared to its nearby barrio’s, it has its own history of heroism and greatness.
