History
After the World War II (1945), the Philippine was set free by the Americans. Settlers from all places came to this and settled, for the place was then graced with rich soil and being abundant with water. Settlers have started building their houses in farms for the woods are available especially bamboo trees. Some people built slopes. The people hace then enjoyed the beauty of the place and the abundant of their harvest. But not so long, bad element disturbed the people. At night, they used to ransack houses, brought with them valuables/ precious materials, money and even personal belongings.
The Francisco Brothers name: Gavino (Vinoy), Ambrocio (Botoy), and Ruperto (Etong) who owned a vast portion of land encouraged the populace to build their houses in group so that they could ask immediate help from their neighbors in case robbers attacked the place. Vinoy, who was the most respected and popular among Francisco brothers offered a portion of his land where houses were to be built. For security reason, the people from the farm flocked to the place and built their permanent houses. They like the place because it is abundant with water. It will just took for then a few minutes’ walk to the slope for them to bath, wash their clothes and fetch water for cooking and drinking purposes. That time Badiang plants gerw luxuriantly in the slopes were many settlers are fetch their water. When friends and relative asked the people about their name of place, their usual answer was they’re living in a place with so many Badiang plants is planted. Later, the people adapted the name of the place as BADIANG and it was called now a days.
In the religious group some of the people are decided to have a patron saint and it was the resulted during their meeting that the patron saint in this barangay is St. Francis of Assisi. It was celebrated during October 3-4.
