History
History of Baarangay Tabugoc
Barangay Tabugoc is one of th oldest barangays of Pandan, Catanduanes. Its history can be traced way back to the 18th century. Early families identified in the place were Trinidad and Baron, from mainland of Luzon. Then came the families of Icaranom and Sanchez.
There are two stories on how the name of barangay came to be. The place before is a forested area with so many red fruit bearing vine plant called “Tabugoc” while the other are in that, the place was familiar for the abundance of “Tibugoc” local name for small octupos.
The barangay was headed by Justiniano Dominguez, Severo Baron, Fernando Icaranom, Leandro Verceles, Esteban Sanchez, Jose Bernardo as previously called “Tenyente Del Barrio” and Gregorio Sanchez, Bienvinido Trinidad, Restituto Sanchez, Abelardo Rojas, Epifania Montarde, Jesus San Jose and Antonio Interior, now as Barangay Captain.
At present Tabugoc had already an Elementary and Secondary Schools. The Tabugoc Central Elementary School and Tabugoc National High School likewise had its own Parish.
