Mission
To provide scientific information that is vital to the
Conceptualization of barangay policies and programs for the improved understanding of the physical,socio-cultural and economics impacts of climate change. To have participation in planning and implementation of global and national programs and projects in relation to climate change adaptation.
Goal
*To encourage residents to actively participate in all projects to achieve progress
*To protect the environment for the betterment of the baranngay residents.
History
Folk stories of the pre-world war 2 times tell of a seafarers who sails in “layag” ( sail.n.a. piece of cloth spread to the wind to make a ship move through the water.) going to and from Legazpi from different barangays will route first to the place of Tinapian because the wind blew (tapi) their “layag” to barangay Tinapian, which is later on the place called pigtatampian (blow away) of the “layag” and shortened the word pigtatampian to “Tinapian” thus the name of the barangay today. Tinapian is also said to be the home of the beautiful ladies who used to wore “tapi” malong when taking a bath in the river.
Common Filipino traits are still observed in our people, such as hospitable,kindness, respectful,strong family ties and religious , humor, generosity, helpful, and the like. The people of our barangay are basically hardworking, compassionate, God-fearing and a high regard fpr self esteem and interpersonal relationship. And celebrated cultural fiestas and celebration and have many cultural food such as “linupak”. The customs stem from a core value system, which focuses on a strong relationship with immediate family.
