HISTORY

“BINANUAHAN - AN OLD TOWN”

To evade from the Moro marauders’ who raided the coastal towns of Bicol, the early setters settled in this area from Lungib, Casiguran. This group headed by Pedro Basilio from the first community of Juban.

Later, the place was established as an independent town from Casiguran. The Kapitan Del Barrio and Gobernadorcillo hold their office as administrator of the newly established town.

Later, the capital was transferred to the new site, now the North Poblacion, because of constant flood, inundations and fear of more piracy.

The place is one of the smallest barangay with an area of 216.125 hectares planted to coconuts, palay and vegetables. PAKWAN (watermelon) is the biggest cash crop.

The barangay is the birthplace of versatile and popular actor Eddie Garcia.
